We have entered a new year. New dreams. New aspirations. What does it hold?
If nothing else let's not forget the following:
Smile more
A smile can make all the difference to both the recipient and the smiler. True it can be hard to smile when things are difficult but it's amazing how less difficult they seem when you smile and someone smiles back!
Sociable occasions are a breeding ground for smiles so we need to increase those more as the year goes on. Take time to be with friends, meet new friends and learn new things that give you that happy feeling. PAB Events sister company www.magneticattrations4u.co.uk will be out in force in 2011 and spreading smiles is our priority. Magnetic Attractions is currently giving away free gifts so don't miss out!
Party more
At this time of the year you might feel all partied out and you still have New Years Eve to go! Did you manage to go to parties you really wanted to go to? Not every party is fun for everyone so take a moment to think before accepting that invite.
Choose parties carefully and if you can't find one that makes you feel really excited, throw your own! It's a lot simpler than you think and PAB Events is always on hand to provide a helping hand at a price you can afford. Throwing a party doesn't have to be about big venues and expensive entertainment. Talk to us about the options.
Have a wonderful New Year everyone!

Tips for the Christmas Party season
Years ago it was all about how many Christmas celebrations you could squeeze into your diary. These days with the recession upon us many of us are holding back on the party celebrations. Here’s a few tips to help get you through the party season!
• Choose your parties carefully. We are all time poor but we all deserve a good night out. It may seem strange weighing up the pros and cons of a party but it’s pretty essential if you don’t want to end up wishing is was all a waste of make up and a stunning dress!
•If you are single deciding which friend to take to a special doo can be tricky. Who will you have most fun with? Who can socialise easily if you get an erg to work the room? Who will really appreciate a good night out? These are good things to consider when you are making your choice
•If you are in a relationship allocate a special night out just to the two of you where you choose exactly where you want to go. Regardless of how many parties your are invited to as a couple it’s possible that not one of them would be what you would have chosen if you had the choice
•Host your own party. It doesn’t have to be big and it doesn’t have to cost much. In fact if everyone brings a bottle and a favourite dish all you have to think about is the festive cheer!
•Ladies - Have at least one night out with the girls. Whether you are single or not nothing beats a girly night out where you can speak your own special language and monopolise the dance floor!
•Guys – no need to tell you to have a night out with the lads!!
This Christmas enjoy it. It’s been a tough year!

Would you build your own house?
Be honest. Would you? I suspect that unless you have done this before and have all the relevant experience the answer would be ‘No’. Building a house is going to cost you money which ever way you look at it, so getting it right is the most important thing to consider if you have a budget. Once it’s built you then need to dress it up and that’s where the fun for you starts.
You are probably wondering what all this is about. My name is Paula Burns and I am a Wedding and Events Planner. My company is PAB Events. I don’t make cakes, I don’t stock wedding dresses, I don’t take professional photographs, and so I could go on and on……..What I do is ‘build’ fabulous weddings and events.
In the same way that you wouldn’t roll up your sleeves and take on the project of building a house, it is equally daunting and lets face it somewhat scary to take on the project of ‘building’ a wedding.
Imagine asking someone what bricks they used and they recommend bricks that where relevant to the environment and area they were building in and it was totally wrong for your area? Similarly you could source your windows and doors in the same way but it may have no bearing on the specific type of home you are creating and at what stage you need to put them in?! Then you also need to ask yourself if you want your house to look like theirs or do you have a specific dream of your own? Let me put it this way; it's great to get help from friends and family but they are not experts.
I advise, source, plan and handle all the minute details to make sure your wedding or party is not only solid but a complete expression of you, just the way you want it. The best part is that I’ll include my services in your existing budget.

Want to save money when you shop? Read on............
PAB Events Events constantly strives to get the best service at the best prices for our clients. This is why when I heard of this opportunity it was like music to my ears!
We all like a bargain and shopping on the internet is quick and easy. Imagine how much better you will feel with a Genie finding you the best price available on line when you are searching for a product! This is just by doing a search in a regular search engine and without going to a comparison site which will sometimes limit your choices.
The good news is that I am now a distributer of The Shopping Genie and I am giving them away absolutely free! Just follow the instructions below to download your genie and the instructions on how to use it!
How to get your Genie
Click on this link for my Shopping Genie website http://www.myshoppinggenie.com/paburns
At the top of the first page click on the large blue button, “GET THE FREE APP” and then follow the instructions to install the SHOPPING GENIE.
How to use your Shopping Genie
Every time you use the internet to get the lowest price for something you want to buy, do your search as normal in your favourite search engine. Once you click on the search button, look for the GENIE which will appear in the form of a tool bar at the bottom of the screen.
Click on the COMPARE button in the tool bar and then click on the Google search option. The GENIE will do the search for the cheapest source and display it on the screen. If you want to localise the search you can click the options button in the tool-bar and enter your town in the box, top left.
That’s it!
There are no obligations with this free Genie, but there is more the Genie can do for you. Once you have had the chance to familiarise yourself with how great the Genie is I will publish some more information about how you can make money, rather than just save it.
Let me know how you get on by commenting or emailing me at info@pabevents.co.uk

Tips for the Best Man & Groom's Speeches
PAB Events often get asked for advice in providing tips for the Groom & Best man's speeches, usually because it's the point that palms get sweaty and tongues get tied!
However, I would never be too prescriptive with this advice because the most important thing is to put individual personalities into a speech. Everyone will know if you are not being you and even worse, if you are not being sincere! So here's a few sound bites to get you started:
Groom Speech Tips
• Acknowledge your WIFE. This will be the first time she be referred to
as this so it’s a great moment for everyone attending!
• Express how much you love your wife and any special attributes about her
• Honour both sets of parents on the head table
• Reassuring Brides parents that their daughter is in ‘safe hands’
• Thank yous to both sets of parents for their support thoughout the whole
planning process
• Toast your bride!
Sound bites:
My wife and I would like to thank you for celebrating this special day with us
[Bides Mum & Dad], thank you for welcoming me into the family
For the Toast: Ladies & Gentlemen I give you my beautiful bride!
Best man Speech Tips
Don't be afraid to mention how nervous you were/are. This makes you sound human!
Mention what is so special about the happy couple/what makes them unique
Compliment the bride & bridesmaids
Compliment the bride & grooms family
Amusing childhood stories/things that have happened in the past
Toast the bride & groom

Planning the perfect Christmas Party

PAB Events is hosting the alternative Christmas party this year - Celebrate Ska! Log onto our web site to find out more and book discounted tickets www.pabevents.co.uk. But if you want to host an independant party here are some tips to make your life a bit easier....
Instead of turkey with all the trimmings, spice it up a bit! Tai, Caribbean, Indian are just some of the alternative options!
Be creative with the venue. Transform your home or work place into the ultimate party hideout. You’d be surprised at what a party organiser can source to suite your budget!
Instead of Christmas Crackers get all the guests to buy a fun novelty gift worth a certain price then distribute amongst the guests.
Plan the running order of your party. Although remember, an itinery is a starting point. Don’t stress about keeping everything to a strict time scale
Be creative with your entertainment. Music is usually essential for a party but this doesn’t mean just having a DJ. Why not theme the party? Themes can be limited to table décor, food and live entertainment only. There’s no need to break the bank by hiring in lots of back drops and props!
If you are using an independent venue book well in advance. Christmas dates get booked up early
Booking in advance also goes for your catering & entertainment. The best get booked first.
Get written confirmation for everything you book. The last thing you want is major surprises 2 or 3 weeks before your party
If you are sending invitations make them fun! They are the first thing your guests will experience that relates to the party so give them a little bit of anticipation
If there isn’t accommodation provide telephone numbers taxis so everyone can get home safely. You can even go as far as warning the taxi company in advance

PAB Events Bumper Charity package!
Is your charity getting over looked? Does it get stressful trying to identify the events that will work best for you and raise much needed funds?
I am very excited about this new package I have launched for charities. Going back to my roots of what PAB Events represents charities always featured highly. However there was no solid package available for struggling charities....until now.
It's a catch 22 situation. You want to raise money so the initial outlay has to be minimal. Small events can increase funds steadily, but the bigger the event the more you could potentially raise. It gets stressfull identifying one event after another and what if you don't have the expertise within the team to brain storm ideas, source suppliers at discounted costs and capture the imagination of the general public so they favour your event and support it?
Trying to raise money for a charity without professional expertise can be a very costly business. The last thing you want to do is to run an event at a loss. That's where PAB Events brand new Bumper Charity Package comes in. For a small monthly outlay we will support your charity on an ongoing basis opening up our world of contacts and assisting you stage fundraising events that will get you noticed.
Currently we will only be offering 3 charities this package and the offer ends on 31st Dec 2010. Your charity could have one of these places.
Please call us on 01633 763504 / 07830315367 for more information and to discuss what we can do for you. Or you can email me at paula@pabevents.co.uk
