You’ve booked your wedding suppliers, everything is in hand, nothing can go wrong. What on earth do you need a Wedding Planner for?
It’s very satisfying when you have a list and you can tick off everything one by one as you do it because the idea is once it’s done you don’t need to re-visit it. The trouble with ticking off the list of suppliers as and when you book each service or product for your wedding is that the job is just beginning. This realisation only kicks in as you approach the wedding date and begin to realise that there are all manner of things each of these suppliers need to know about in terms of what you want and in terms of what is possible for them and your venue.
Of course you are capable of managing every ones expectations. Making phone calls here checking things there, answering any queries that arise while all the time trying to prepare yourself personally for one of the most important days of your life. And as you juggle all these things you begin to wonder is there anything you have missed and exactly why your new list just keeps getting longer and longer!
Planning and managing a wedding is like baking a cake. You have bought all the ingredients but you still have to bake it, present it and serve it. You have booked all your suppliers. You still have to instruct them and connect each activity to create your dream wedding. I rest my case.
